An Entrepreneur Creating Value Across Markets
Mark Sellar is an Australian entrepreneur and investor who has turned small concepts into companies now operating internationally. He is known for building businesses across different sectors such as fitness, hardware, property, and consumer products. He lives between Dubai and Australia and spends much of his time in India, where he is expanding his latest venture, Drive Fitt.
He always takes a hands-on approach to business. Each of his projects starts with a clear idea, backed by research, effort, and persistence. His focus has always been on creating useful products, building reliable teams, and scaling in markets that offer strong potential.
Early Success: From Small Idea to Global Reach
Mark’s first major success came with the Fantom Doorstop! It was a simple yet innovative product which was designed to improve how doors function. It began as a single product in one hardware store in South Australia but now it is selling across 80 countries worldwide as Fantom Hardware.

The company’s designs received multiple awards. These include the Good Design Award and The Design 100. By 2022, Fantom Hardware had grown into a multimillion-dollar business and was acquired by a private investment group. It set the foundation for how Mark approaches business.! Start small, get the details right, and build carefully for scale.
Expanding into Consumer Products
After establishing himself in hardware, Mark explored new opportunities in the consumer market. He founded Shader Australia, a personal beach shade that quickly gained global attention. The idea was simple: to create a compact, stylish, and practical way for people to stay protected at the beach.
Shader went viral in 2018, reaching over 130 million organic views within weeks. It became one of the most talked-about lifestyle products of the year and was later acquired in 2025.
Mark also created Tumbl Bear which is a range of impact-reducing hats for children. The brand won the Mums Choice Award in the USA and continues to grow internationally. Both Shader and Tumbl Bear show Mark’s ability to spot practical ideas. Ideas which can be turned into products that appeal to real customers.
Drive Fitt: A New Chapter in Fitness
In recent years, Mark has focused on health and fitness with Drive Fitt, a new concept that combines cricket, fitness, and recovery. The idea connects India’s love for cricket with a modern approach to training and wellbeing.

Drive Fitt is co-founded with Preity Zinta and Shubman Gill, both well-known names in Indian cricket and entertainment. Together, they’ve built a franchise model designed for today’s fitness market! High-energy, community-driven, and easy to scale. The first location of Drive Fitt is in Gurgaon, with plans to expand across India.
Through Drive Fitt, Mark has cracked the code for business understanding in the market! Bring the right people together, and create something new that can fit real demand.
Property and Investment Portfolio
Mark is also the Chairman of Sellar Capital, a family investment company he founded in 2014. The business invests across residential, commercial, industrial, and medical property sectors in Australia.
Sellar Capital also backs small and medium businesses in areas like technology, ecommerce, and consumer products. Mark takes an active role in these investments, often helping shape business strategy and product direction. His experience across industries has given him a strong understanding of how to build sustainable growth.
International Markets
Beyond property and product innovation, Mark serves as Director of Red Giant, a company that helps Australian brands enter the Chinese market. Red Giant connects quality products to one of the world’s largest consumer bases through both retail and ecommerce.
Through cross-border work, Mark Sellar is building links between regions with strong demand and products that can stand out. Mark Sellar is moving between markets like Australia, China, and now India with the same steady approach: Research first, Build trust, then Execute.
Early Recognition and Entrepreneurial Start
Before becoming a full-time entrepreneur, Mark gained huge national attention in Australia in 2014. He won The Big Adventure, a Survivor-style reality television show at the age of 26. He took home a $1 million prize.
But instead of spending it, he used that money as seed capital to build his first business. That decision marked the beginning of a career focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and long-term value creation.
Family and Everyday Life
Outside work, Mark keeps his life balanced. He enjoys training at the gym, plays golf, and spends time with family and friends. He is married to Stevie Sellar, and they have three beautiful children, Olympia, Everly, and Franklin.
In 2025, Mark and Stevie adopted Franklin from an orphanage in Sierra Leone, a personal chapter that holds deep importance for their family. Family time and fitness are two things he values most when he’s not busy travelling for business.
Connecting with India Through Business and Dialogue
Alongside his ventures, Mark hosts Beyond A Billion, a podcast that features leading Indian entrepreneurs and investors. The show shares insights into India’s fast-growing economy and how outsider companies can partner with Indian businesses.
Through the podcast, Mark highlights real opportunities and builds stronger understanding between markets. It reflects his growing connection with India and his belief that collaboration drives growth on both sides.
A Career Built on Work and Consistency
Mark Sellar’s journey spans industries and continents. His focus is on doing the work well and finding smart ways to grow.
He looks at markets the same way he builds businesses, by understanding what’s real. When others see a billion potential customers, Mark studies how many are truly reachable, how they live, and what they value. That clarity has helped him shape how he moves between places like Australia, China, and India. He adapts strategies without changing his core.
His story is one of steady progress! Proof that with discipline, curiosity, and sound judgment, a good idea can travel far. Like any strong foundation, it’s built brick by brick- steady, measured, and built to last.
